SIGN UP FOR THE YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD

The Young Adult Advisory Board is a space for teenaged library enthusiasts to make decisions about how we run things at SBPL. You'll be working with the library's Young Adult Specialist to design the kinds of events or programs you want to have at the library, to provide input on the books, movies, or other materials that would benefit people your age, and to do hands-on volunteer work that benefits your local library.

The Youth Advisory Board began in November of 2021, and meets monthly, from 4-5, on the second Thursday of the month.  We are always open to new members, so sign up today! *YAB is currently on hiatus while the Young Adult Specialist position is open!*

HELP OUT WITH THE SEED LIBRARY

Got a green thumb? The South Burlington Seed Library is a hub for local seed exchange and garden education. Patrons can “borrow” from our inventory of seeds to grow at home. The Seed Library also organizes and promotes educational events and resources relevant to gardening, seed saving, and local food.  See more here.

SBPL receives seeds, which we repackage to distribute out to the community. Adult Specialist Almy Landauer is looking for help organizing, repackaging, and labeling these seeds. To sign up, email her at alandauer@southburlingtonvt.gov expressing your interest and availability.

JOIN THE TECH HELP TEAM

Know how to use a phone and like helping people? Being a Tech volunteer at the Library might be the job for you! Tech volunteers help people of all ages feel more confident using technology. Appointments can look a lot like becoming familiar to a new laptop or device, learning new programs like Microsoft Word or Google Suites, or transferring files from USB to hard drive.

Sound interesting? Send an email to the Library's Digital Specialist, Tina at tmullins@southburlingtonvt.gov and see who you can start helping!
