The Art of Creating Community Thru Hip-Hop

The origins of Hip-Hop are rooted in the upliftment, consciousness raising, and creative expression of the Black and Brown community. This talk will center these themes, provide historical background of the elements of Hip-Hop, and discuss them in context to the current times, with the hopes of inspiring a revival of the spirit of Hip-Hop as a community-building art form.

Will Kasso Condry, co-founder of Juniper Creative Arts, speaks in depth about resilience, authenticity, and the importance of keeping art and creativity at the center of one’s life. Using personal examples and life experiences, he is able to connect and resonate with audiences of young people and adults alike. He seamlessly combines insightful anecdotes and practical takeaways to illuminate the subject matter.

Juniper Creative Arts is a family collective of passionate artists, educators, storytellers, and healing arts practitioners creating at the intersection of spirituality, identity, culture, and community through ancestral practices and the lens of Hip-Hop culture.
