Resources & Workshops

The South Burlington Library Offers Workshops!

Each year, the Library holds 3-4 fun and educational workshops for gardeners. In a typical year we hold programs on a variety of topics, bringing in experts to share their knowledge. Workshops may include:

  • Mid winter: Seed swap and giveaway plus tables of info on a variety of gardening topics staffed by Master Gardeners. Sometimes demos or slideshows too!
  • Spring: Seed starting, garden planning
  • Summer: Composting, container and small space gardening, gardening with native plants, beginner botany
  • Fall: Preserving the harvest, seed saving, soil health

Check the Library’s event calendar to see what’s coming up! You can narrow your results by choosing ‘Gardening’ or ‘Seed Library’ from the topic list in the page’s side bar as you see below.

Gardening Books at the Library

The library also has a robust collection of gardening and garden-related books. These can be found on the second floor in the adult nonfiction area and in the children’s collection on the first floor. In the adult nonfiction area, look in the 630 – 636 section.

You can also search our catalog using the keywords ‘gardening’, or ‘seed saving’, or add any other keyword depending on what type of gardening information you are looking for.

Here is a list of some of the gardening related titles you can borrow from the library.
