On the Art Wall:

This November the South Burlington Library will continue to host a collection of paintings by Andria Lovejoy, a visually impaired local artist. These paintings haven't been shown before, and are inspired by her trip to Monet's gardens at Giverny a few years ago. Andria has always been inspired by traveling to beautiful places. She originally attended art school at Virginia Commonwealth University, and she obtained a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Studio Art from the University of Vermont.

In the Display Case:

This November the South Burlington Library will be hosting a collection of National Park themed hats knit by Mary Lou Recor based on designs from the book Knitting the National Parks by Nancy Bates. Taught by her grandmother, Mary Lou Recor started knitting when headbands and “the flip” were in fashion. She took a break from knitting while in college, then returned to it as a way to stay awake while working night shifts at her first real job. In 1981, she climbed her first mountain, Ampersand in the Adirondacks, and she was hooked. Designer Nancy Bates’ book Knitting the National Parks combines Mary Lou’s two loves, knitting and hiking. She has hiked or biked through fourteen of the parks and has knit fourteen of the patterns from the book.

The Library is ADA accessible, patrons are asked to call (802) 846-4140 in advance if special services are required.

Masks may be worn in the library and at any library program.
