September Art Wall & Display Case

On the left, a painting of a crystal vial and a pear made by Danielle Weinberg, text on the painting reads

On the Art Wall:

Danielle Weinberg is an artist in the Burlington area, focusing on painting and ceramics. After receiving her BA in Studio Art at the University of Vermont, Danielle continues to create from her make-shift home studio. Her work often centers around the female experience and form, as well as elements of nature. She also tends to work within a jewel-toned color palette. As years of painting continue, Danielle finds her pieces getting larger and larger, with the largest to date being 5ft x 4ft. To follow along Danielle’s journey, you can find her on Instagram at @danielleelana.art, with website and shop coming soon.

In the Display Case:

Peter Harrigan has created college theatre productions for 38 years, with 33 at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester. A lifelong Pop Culture fan, he has a very healthy inner child. Peter began gathering fashion dolls in 1993, discovered other collectors online in 1996, and first attended National Barbie Conventions in 2005. He releases his dolls from their packaging and especially enjoys finding, adapting, and making props, furniture, clothing, and backdrops for them; it is a miniature version of his theatre work! He enjoys sharing his adventures as a male doll collector and showing examples from his collection.

His Pride Parade project was born of pandemic boredom. Since no in-person Pride events could occur in 2020 and 2021, Peter created five miniature parade floats, and customized accompanying vehicles to create a miniature virtual parade. It is great for him to display this project in person for the first time at the South Burlington Library.

The Library is ADA accessible, patrons are asked to call (802) 846-4140 in advance if special services are required.

Masks may be worn in the library and at any library program.
