What News Can You Trust?

On Saturday, December 6th the library will be hosting a community discussion on how we can identify different types of information sources and bias on social media and in the news. Gain confidence reading the news online and get the tools to fact check information found there.

Bring your concerns about reading the news online; learn about mis/dis-information, confirmation bias, and how social media platforms operate; discuss methods for finding accurate information; leave with a toolset to fact check what you see online. Come discuss these issues with your neighbors and work to break out of your information filter bubble!

This discussion will be in the library's Community Room from 12:30-2:00pm.
