The Friends of the SBPL funded the StoryWalk® at City Center Park. It begins just off Garden Street behind Healthy Living and concludes near Barrett Street. Parking is available along Garden Street.

The Leaf Thief by Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater

Our current featured book is The Leaf Thief by Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater. This book explores the changing of the seasons as we make our way into Fall. We hope to see you on the StoryWalk®!

The StoryWalk® takes approximately 15 minutes to walk and easily accommodates small groups with strollers and wagons. It is handicapped accessible, and will be open year round. We will change the books seasonally with help and recommendations from the Children’s librarian.The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier Vermont. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalks® feature the pages of a selected children’s picture book mounted inside weather-resistant frames that are placed at intervals along a walking path. They combine early literacy opportunities, physical activity and family time.
