Seven hundred years from now, mankind has abandoned a trash-filled, ecologically ravaged Earth, leaving a planet full of garbage to be compacted by robots like little WALL-E. When another robot is sent to Earth to search for signs of life, WALL-E joins them and finds both love and a renewed purpose.
