Recording Studio Opens on June 27th, 2022
While strolling the South Burlington Public Library's spacious second floor, you may have noticed a small dark room amidst the adult fiction and audio collections. With a name like Hall Communications Radio and NBC5's The Studio painted over the door, the new recording studio at the library has garnered much anticipation and excitement in the months preceding its opening.
Makers of all kinds can look forward to The Studio being open to the public starting on Monday, June 27th!
Use of the The Studio includes audio and visual editing software, such as the Adobe Creative Cloud, DAWs like Ableton Live 11 and Bitwig Studio, keyboard, professional grade microphones, camcorder, full sized green screen and moveable studio lights. Lay down tracks, film and edit videos with the green screen, or record your next podcast episode, it's all possible thanks to the support of our sponsors; Hall Communications Radio and NBC5, and a donation from the Media Factory.
Resources for learning about the software and equipment in the room are available through The Studio's page on our website. Free in-person and virtual classes are available through The Media Factory and cover filming and editing topics helpful to beginning and advanced users alike. See upcoming workshops available from the Media Factory here. Or, learn at your own speed through online courses available through your Library card like these from Learning Express, or through our linked YouTube playlist with helpful tutorials.
